Great Day everyone:
I create this entry with my last blog entry in mind and how Clara Hughes, the only Olympian in history to have been awarded both Summer and Winter Olympic medals, stated in her uplifting speech at the Green Living Show in Toronto, the importance to be kind when competing: as in wishing your competition well to in effect encourage your own best performance.
This having been said, I want to share with you an excellent contest:  The Greatest Salesperson In The World Contest, sponsored by
www.OgilvyOne.com.  It would have been great to have shared this info with you earlier yet there are still have a few days left to enter:  All you have to do is to produce a You Tube video wherein you "sell a red Brick".  It's a lot of fun and you can pull it off when you put your mind to it.
Now why am I encouraging competition when I have entered the competition to win that "gold medal".  Well the business servant in me sees this as a tremendous opportunity for others to participate in as well.  I gave it my personal best and as Clara Hughes expressed in her speech the feeling is most wonderful regardless if I win the medal or not.  Oh I definitely feel the "warrior" spirit in me and all modesty aside you'll have to be good to compete with me yet in the true business servant spirit we need to encourage this in everyone - for everyone to challenge our own personal best - and this is the perfect vehicle to do this.  Besides on the positive side, when the recruiters see our performances, maybe, just maybe, there will be many sales jobs available for us.  Now that would pump this economy and again in the Business Servant spirit this is the highest priority.  The ripple effect of what we shine out does indeed come back to us many fold.
In presenting this contest on my many websites this website is the only one in which I link my own presentation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21BwVQEwrnM.  For me there was the question if I should utilise my Internet power to promote my You Tube presentation to drive my rankings yet I thought that to encourage the best performance for the Contest it would be best not to bias the voting: after all as much as I may want to win for myself, because I believe in this contest and the meaning of it: to indeed find and celebrate the Greatest Salesperson in the world. I thought it most important to get people to visit and make their own decision.  Sure I could go out there and get all my friends to vote for me (I am lucky to have many friends) yet in a way this would defeat the true opportunity that we as a community have before us.
I would also like to add a note about encouraging you to not only participate, but also to add your feedback and comments – regardless if you enter.  Constructive criticism is so very important and when it is genuinely expressed without malicious intent: it is good for growth – it is very helpful in our drive as “sales athletes” to achieve our personal best. Thus I encourage you to go for it:  I’m even here to help you – you can call me Toll Free in North America at 1.888.668.6248, and I will share with you any information I can to help you to achieve your personal best:  I am not so great at the production end of videos yet I consider myself talented at sales  Wishing you much success, let’s pump that economy.  When we believe, we can.
Cheers,
Mark Mueller
